OBXtek's Spring Volunteer Day

OBXtek Inc. ended the 2018 Spring Project Management Summit with a volunteer day at Serving Our Willing Warriors (SOWW), a non-profit organization that provides non-clinical support programs for ill or injured service members during medical recovery.

Over 40 OBXtek Project Managers, Senior Leadership, and employees spent the morning at the SOWW retreat center, clearing flower beds, removing old mulch around trees, and spreading over 200 bags of new mulch to prepare the beds for spring planting. OBXtek received a tour of the facilities and had the opportunity to learn about the expanding mission of the organization.

"I was honored and humbled to work on this community service project," OBXtek Project Manager Virginia Pettis said. "Everyone loves to see beauty and what better way to start than by looking at the nature around you-- the nature that we helped look a little more appealing to the eye for the families at the facility."

Serve Our Willing Warriors is a publicly funded, community-supported 501(c)(3) non-profit providing encouragement and support for our Nation’s Warriors through non-medical programs and services that positively affect their recovery.
