OBXtek, Inc. awarded IRS Penetration Testing and Code Analysis (PTCA) Branch Penetration and Application Security Testing contract

Tysons Corner, VA, November 26, 2018 – OBXtek, Inc. was awarded the Penetration Testing and Code Analysis (PTCA) Branch Penetration and Application Security Testing Contract by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The five-year, $10.8 million prime contract was awarded through the Alliant Small Business Governmentwide Acquisition Contract (GWAC) vehicle.

“OBXtek is honored to be selected for the role of managing security testing for the IRS’ PTCA branch,” said Dale Spencer, OBXtek president and chief operating officer. “Through the process of penetration testing, we will be able to simulate potential cyber threats, strengthening a system that is integral to American taxpayers.”

OBXtek will provide the Security Risk Management Division’s PTCA Branch with enhanced capabilities to identify and analyze security vulnerabilities in IRS systems. The Penetration Testing Team operates and maintains a virtual Threat Simulation Environment, used to develop test cases and enabling DevSecOps for Application Development teams. PTCA performs Static (SAST) & Dynamic (DAST) Application Security Testing. The SAST and DAST teams are responsible for the operations and maintenance of the DAST and SAST software, used by developers and project teams throughout the IRS.
